Fall in Montana is a great time to sell your home… especially if it’s a nice long Indian summer. Which by the way we have been having. The cool crisp mornings and vibrant fall colors accompanied by the “back to school” mindset, sellers have a good chance of selling their homes.
If you ask any real estate agent when the best time to sell is, they will tell you spring, followed by early to mid-fall. An advantage to listing in the fall is inventory. You will have less competition. When you list in the spring it’s the busiest time of year and you will be up against more competition. So fall is a fabulous time to make your home stand out and show it at its best!
If you’re selling a home over a certain price, fall could also be an advantage for you. High-end homes require buyers with big pockets… and where are they in the summer months? They are most likely not looking for a home, but on vacation. That’s where the early to mid-fall selling season comes in.
That being said, there is not a wrong time to sell. If you have an agent who knows your local market and your home is priced right. And you showcase your property in the most attractive way possible. You will most likely sell your property in a timely manner.
