Catch the Holiday Spirit in Drummond, Philipsburg

December 9, 2015

With Christmas approaching,  small towns all over Montana are getting into the holiday spirit with festive community events.  The two events in our local Granite County area are Philipsburg’s Yule night and WINTERFEST in Drummond.

WINTERFEST begins Wednesday night with something going on every day until Saturday.  Christmas caroling will kick off things off Wednesday evening, with singers strolling the streets and performing at homes and businesses. Thursday night is the Christmas light contest where locals will be adorning their homes  to ring in the holiday and to try and receive a cash prize. Friday will see a full docket of basketball games for Drummond High School, with Santa Claus making an appearance at the school on the fire truck and visiting boys and girls after the game. Saturday is the highlight of the WINTERFEST with the Craft Fair and Talent Show at the old high school gymnasium in Drummond.

And don't forget the Open House at the historic Old School House from New Chicago. This relic from our past is located in the NW corner of Drummond and will be open from 1-4 p.m. There will be refreshments and even a craft session nearby at the Drummond School & Communiuty Library.

I will be at the bazaar with some buying and listing packets on hand, just letting people know what services I provide.  I will also have the Keurig coffee machine there that I’m raffling off this month, so if anyone wants to make a food or money donation to the Granite County Food Bank you will have the opportunity to do it there and be entered into the drawing on December 20th for the Keurig.  Every $10 donation is worth 20 entries in the drawing!

Philipsburg will get into the Holiday spirit with Yule Night Friday evening. This is an event you won’t want to miss!  The town is decked out in holiday décor and lights, with all of the businesses going all out! Take a stroll down Main Street where merchants will be offering drinks and goodies for everyone to enjoy.  There are crafts for the kids, Santa is in town, a craft bazaar and much more!

Get out and enjoy the fun of the holiday season in the Flint Creek Valley!
